UAV-BASED FLIGHT SERVICES AT ITS BEST

SPECIAL UAV MISSIONS

Based on the "HERCULES ONE" and "HERCULES TWO" UAVs Aeroxess is in the position to provide a wide range of flight services for industrial and R&D applications beyond antenna measurements.

Right from the beginning Aeroxess started with the development of own large UAVs, because soon became quiet obvious that the concepts of commercial available multi-rotor drones or UAVs are facing their limits when up-scaling towards larger UAVs to reach longer flight durations at more payload capacities.

The fact that Aeroxess designs, produces, tests and operates their own UAVs is also an excellent prerequisite to customise the HERCULES UAVs for efficient and optimised integration of customer-furnished payloads.

Currently three different HERCULES UAVs are prepared for flight services.

Aeroxess introduces a HYBRID Version of HERCULES ONE UAV

Aeroxess introduces the HERCULES ONE-H (H1-H) UAV, which is a hybrid version of the tethered Hercules ONE-T (H1-T).

A 6 hp 2-cylinder 4-stroke boxer engine runs an electric generator being housed inside the central hexagon compartment of the H1-H.

All combustion related parts are located outside the central compartment of the UAV to avoid thermal impacts and contaminations in the inside of the central compartment.

The H1-H targets applications where measurement operations need to be performed above the measurement object and where hanging cables of the tethered H1-T would collide with the measurement object.

Aspects of hanging cables are not only valid for the power supply cables, but also for the signal- and data transmission cables between UAV and ground. Therefore a tether-free operation of the H1-H presumes that the RF-signal transmission is performed by either a free-space and coherent laser transmission subsystem or by applying phaseless near-field measurement techniques not needing any transmission of RF-reference signals down to ground.

In order to fully cover "Above-DUT Measurements", the H1-H ensures tetherless measurements, long-term flights at sufficient payload capacities.
